May is Stroke Awareness Month

Every 40 seconds, someone in the United States has a stroke, and every 3.5 minutes, someone dies of stroke. High blood pressurehigh cholesterol, smoking, obesity, and diabetes are leading causes of stroke. The warning signs of a stroke can be easily remembered by thinking F.A.S.T.: Face, Arm, Speech, and Time. Is the person’s Face drooping? Do they have Arm weakness? Is their Speech slurred? If yes than it is Time to call 911. It is vital to seek timely emergency care even if these symptoms go away.
