One Death Every 38 Seconds

Approximately 2,300 Americans die of a cardiovascular disease daily, averaging one death every 38 seconds! This makes it the leading cause of death for both men and women in the United States. With these statistics, you probably know or have known someone affected by the disease.

Luckily there’s something that can be done. According to the American Heart Association, here are just a few lifestyle changes you or a loved one can make to prevent or reverse cardiovascular disease:

  • Stay active
  • Don’t smoke
  • Lower your cholesterol
  • Eat healthy
  • Reduce your blood sugar
  • Get your blood pressure under control
  • Know your family history
  • Reduce your stress
  • Limit alcohol

Use this month to raise awareness, both at home and in the community, about cardiovascular disease and how it can be prevented.
