Why We Blog

In society today, many believe that pharmacies simply receive prescriptions, dispense medications, and collect copays.  That statement may have been true in the past, however with the rapid changes in insurance coverage and reimbursement structures, pharmacies such as Pharmacy Advantage have taken on a greater role in coordinated health care.

To explain further, I always like to compare our organization to an onion.  You have to peel back the layers to see the “heart” of our operation.  We are completely based on relationship building.  Whether those relationships be with patients, families, caregivers, physicians, nurses, drug manufacturers, insurance companies, or non-profit funding foundations; all pieces of the puzzle are vital when it comes to our main objective…the well-being of our customers!   The Pharmacy Advantage holistic approach is built on a foundation of collaborative treatement with no gaps in coverage or access to needed therapy.

One area we are constantly working to improve is the various avenues of communication available.  At Pharmacy Advantage we value the thoughts, feelings, experiences, and opinions of our patients.  Through the start of this blog, we hope to create opportunities for our staff and clients to exchange ideas, viewpoints, and other helpful information.  What I believe makes us different from other pharmacies is the family feeling our workplace embodies.  It is my wish that by involving my teammates on this blog, you too will see the genuine kindness and “extra benefits” we give to our patients.   Please feel free to reach out to us, we wouldn’t be here without you!
